The Union of Country Sports Workers

Union of Country Sports WorkersThe Union of Country Sports Workers (UCSW) is the only listed Trades Union dedicated to employees within the country sports industry and their ancillary trades.

The UCSW was set up in 1997 as an independent organisation to fight robustly for their member’s rights and against any threat to their jobs and homes. It became an independent listed trade union on 17th September 1999, and lists the following objectives:

To watch over, promote and protect the interests of its members and to regulate relations between members and employers
Act as a single unifying body for all those employed either directly or indirectly in Country Sports
Represent the interests of members to the main political parties, Government Commissions, the TUC, official field sports bodies and the media
Aim to protect members jobs, and members and employers joint interests from external and political threat

The UCSW is run almost entirely on a voluntary basis, but still enjoys a membership of around 5,000 members from across the UK, Europe and America. The majority of committee members have full time jobs and yet find time to do a tremendous amount for the Union to try and safeguard their future.
