A key part of the Countryman Fairs ethos is to encourage greater participaton in our country sports. Most of us don't even realise that right there in front of the fire, or under the kitchen table is one of the most highly skilled and competitive athletes in any sport - and it all comes naturally!
Our gundogs have become so much more than just a breed of working dog, and are now an important part of the family structure. However, you would be surprised just how much fun you can both have by getting involved in gundog activities. The Setter – Originating from the words ‘to set’ or ‘to sit’, the setter is a type of gundog traditionally used for the hunting of small game such as quail, pheasant and grouse.

Gundog Working Tests are competitions that artificially simulate shooting day conditions, in order to assess the working abilities of gundogs. Gundog Working Tests are effectively a simulated Field Trial, although our Working Test has subtle differences from other gundog events.
