MITSUBISHI MOTORS WORLD SERIES CLAY SHOOTING HOT SHOTS AT HIGHCLERE
The eagerly awaited third and fourth round of the Mitsubishi Motors World Series Clay Shooting Championship got underway over the second May bank holiday weekend, at the Highclere Game and Country Fair. Each year the Mitsubishi Motors World Series offers shooters of all abilities a real chance of winning a share of the largest prize fund in any clay shooting competition in the world.
On both days of the Highclere Game and Country Fair, the Mitsubishi Motors World Series produced the next 24 shooters on their way to the Grand Final taking place at the Midland Game and Country Fair. For the first time in the competitions history both Sunday and Monday of Highclere Game and Country Fair saw the first two junior girls qualify for the Grand Final. Lorrayn Mendez qualified on Sunday and Amber Hill of Bracknell in Berkshire brought to Highclere Game and Country Fair on Monday by her grandfather Mr. Bill Rodgers qualified at the age of 11, she is also the youngest qualifier in the competitions history with a qualifying score of 35. The fifth and sixth qualifying rounds for the Mitsubishi Motors World Series Clay Shooting Championship take place at Sussex Game and Country Fair on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June. The top three shooters from each class; Professional, Open, Ladies and Junior on each will go through to the Grand Final. For the first time in 2009 the Saturday of the Midland Game and Country Fair will also offer the opportunity for two competitors in each class to qualify for the Grand Final on the Sunday of the Midland Game and Country Fair. The Grand Final will see 80 finalists compete head to head to decide the overall Mitsubishi Motors World Series Champion. The finalists in each class will shoot off until there is one remaining Class Champion. The four Class Champions will then shoot for the title of Mitsubishi Motors World Series Champion and drive away in a brand new Mitsubishi L200 Trojan worth over £20,000.00LP.
