Game and Country Fair News: Champion of champions at Highclere Country Fair
TWO CHANCES TO QUALIFY FOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS AT HIGHCLERE GAME AND COUNTRY FAIR
No other event in the country offers terrier and lurcher events to the standard Countryman Fairs set. All of the Terrier and Lurcher events are run on both days and each day acts as a separate qualifier for the Countryman’s Weekly Champion of Champions. Dedicated ringside parking is reserved for those entering any of the terrier and lurcher competitions. The next Countryman Fairs event is Highclere Game and Country Fair, 24th and 25th of May, and on each day entries will cost just £1.00.
Below are the showing classes that will be run on each day:
Lurchers:
Judging commences at 12.00am approximately
1. Smooth Puppy under 6 months 2. Smooth Puppy 6-12 moths 3. Rough Puppy under 6 months 4. Rough Puppy 6-12 Months
5. Champion Puppy
Classes 1-5 do not qualify for the Championship
6. Rough Dog Under 23" 7. Rough Bitch Under 23" 8. Smooth Dog Under 23" 9. Smooth Bitch Under 23” 10. Rough Dog Over 23" 11. Rough Bitch Over 23" 12. Smooth Dog Over 23" 13. Smooth Bitch Over 23" 14. Bedlington Cross, dog or Bitch 15. Rabbiting Class 16. Veteran Class (over 7 years) 17. Best Bull Cross 18. Best purebred sighthound 19. Child Handler, 8yrs and under 20. Child Handler, 9yrs to 16yrs.
Class 14-20 do not qualify for the Championship
Terriers:
Judging commences at 12.00am approximately
1. Sapling Class 12-18months Classes 1does not qualify for the Championship
2. Lakeland Dog 3. Lakeland Bitch 4. Patterdale/Fell Dog 5. Patterdale/Fell Bitch 6. Border Dog 7. Border Bitch 8. Jack Russell Dog 9. Jack Russell Bitch 10. Bedlington (pure) 11. Crossbred Dog 12. Crossbred Bitch 13. Plummer Terrier
14. Best Veteran (over 7 years) 15. Working Pairs 16. Junior Handler 8yrs and under 17. Junior Handler 9yrs to 16 yrs
Classes 13-16 do not qualify for the Championship
Lurcher Straight Racing:
Competition will be divided into under 23” and over 23”.
Puppy Racing and Terrier Racing
There will be racing classes for both classifications.
