Experience your countryside in action
EXPERIENCE YOUR COUNTRYSIDE IN ACTION
The UK’s first major countryside event of the year, the Kelmarsh Country Fair, is nearly upon us. The event is held each Easter Weekend at Kelmarsh Hall, Northampton which falls on Sunday 4th and Monday 5th April in 2010. Now in its 24th year, organizers Countryman Fairs promise
that there is more to see and do than ever before. The line up of entertainment and have a go experiences offer an action packed weekend of family fun. Each feature area gives you the chance to witness field sports being competed at the highest level and then go on to learn about the sport for yourself. After a visit to the tuition facilities over 250 exhibition stands offer a wide variety of equipment necessary to take your new found passion further, or just relax and enjoy some well earned retail therapy.
The Kelmarsh Country Fair has become a key event in the countryside calendar. Not only can you enjoy the very highest standard of family entertainment and field sports competition, but you can fully indulge in all that the countryside has to offer. From rural crafts to course fishing, clay shooting to gamekeeping the Kelmarsh Country Fair truly brings all aspects of country life together.
At the heart of the Kelmarsh Country Fair is Gunmakers Row and Airgun Expo. With the leading manufacturers and retailers in all shotguns, airguns and accessories, Kelmarsh Country Fair is a must for all shooting enthusiasts. The Sporting Airgun Ranges in Airgun Expo offer numerous opportunities to try out a comprehensive selection of new airguns and scopes from the Worlds leading manufacturers before making the all-important choice. The Mitsubishi Motors Clay Shooting Festival also offers a wide range of clay shooting competitions and “have a go” opportunities so you can either compete for on the day prizes, or to get expert tuition and brush up your technique.
Kelmarsh Country Fair includes many other feature areas, all designed to help you get involved and really enjoy the countryside around you. The Angling Festival combines have-a-go competitions, retail stands, the Carrilon Angling Arena and tuition facilities to offer the perfect environment to get involved in game or coarse fishing. The Working Dog Village offers a Working Test, Gundog Scurries, Terrier and Lurcher events, the Working Dog Arena and over 50 working dog related exhibitors. The National Organisation of Beaters and Pickers Up, situated on Gunmakers Row, can provide advice and guidance on dog training issues and working your dog.
On Marsden’s Game Feeds Gamekeepers Row, advice and guidance can be sought from the leading game keeping organisations including the National Gamekeepers Organisation & the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust. Moulton College can give you advice on how to become a game keeper or get involved in land management.
However the Kelmarsh Country Fair is not just about country sports, it’s also about all day family fun. Top Class Main Arena attractions include Ye Olde Red tail Falconry, Cyril the Squirrel and his Terrier antics and David Seamark Sheepdog Demonstrations, which will keep you glued to your seat all day. Live music from the Casablanca Steps and Riverboat Days offers the perfect backdrop when relaxing in the picnic areas, and the traditional fun fair, magic show and Punch and Judy Show will keep the little ones entertained.
