Green Hackle Pipe Band
There are few sounds more beautifully haunting than that of the bagpipes. For over 20 years The Kelmarsh Game and Country Fair has welcomed some of the worlds leading pipe bands to perform in the Main Arena, and we are delighted to welcome the Green Hackle Pipe Band in 2010.
Regular performers at the Kelmarsh Game and Country Fair, the Green Hackle Pipe Band was formed in 2004 from like minded individuals in and around London as a relaxed band where pipe music and its history could be enjoyed. The band quickly grew and officially adopted the name Green Hackle in 2006, taking the name from the plumes worn by the band.
In the short time the band has been in existence they have performed for the Lord Mayor of London, civic dignitaries and local organisations. Their 2007 highlights included a trip to France and Belgium, the “Whittington Walk”, the London Eye and the Tower of London. Over the last 24 months the band has travelled to Kazakhstan, Turkey, France, Italy and twice to Ireland. In 2008 they returned to the Tower, beating the retreat in London’s Guildhall. The Green Hackle Pipe Band performs twice a day in the Kelmarsh Game and Country Fair Main Arena.
