David Seamark Sheepdog Demonstration
Welcoming back one of our popular acts to the 2012 Kelmarsh Country Fair, David Seamark and his Sheepdog Demonstration will once again be taking to the Main Arena to demonstrate the skill and commitment that goes into creating a working sheepdog that excels in the field. David's unique display uses a variety of techniques and practices with children invited into the Arena to see how they fair rounding up those illusive sheep!
The Kelmarsh Game and Country Fair provides a true celebration of working dogs and provides an insight into the unique bond that develops between a dog and its handler. There are few partnerships between man and dog that are as closely linked than those of a shepherd and his sheepdog, and no more is this apparent than in David's display with all five of his working dogs.
David is a sheep and arable farmer running a flock of 600 breeding ewes. With years of experience working sheepdogs under his belt, David will educate visitors to this year's event using a variety of techniques on animals such as sheep and geese. A superb act to catch, David's demonstration portrays the skill and commitment that goes into producing a working sheepdog, whilst showing the ability and character of each dog too. Although a great deal of time and training goes into the development of these highly intelligent working dogs, it is the special bond between the dog and his handler that enables them to work as one.
Performing twice a day in the Kelmarsh Game and Country Fair Main Arena, make sure you catch David and his dogs this April. Countryman Fairs organise 5 award-winning events across the UK throughout the year, each showcasing the very best in country life.
