The Terrier and Lurcher events have long been a firm favourite at all of our Countryman Fairs events, attracting a huge number of dog enthusiasts from across the country. Kick-starting the Champion of Champions for 2012, this year's Terrier and Lurcher Village at the Kelmarsh Game and Country Fair once again welcomed the UK's best earth and running dogs who came ready to compete in the first major event of the season.

Organised by the Coursing Crew, this year's competitions produced some exhilarating displays with the two day event seeing terrier and lurcher handlers battle it out in both field and showing classes for qualifying places. Overseeing the championship, Chris Weaver expresses her delight at the continued interest in such a fantastic championship: “Last weekend proved a tremendous success with impressive performances from all who took part. Both the field and showing classes welcomed a great deal of interest, and with the weekend's qualifiers now confirmed, we look forward to seeing what happens next.”


The next Terrier and Lurcher events and qualifiers for the Midland Game Fair's Champions of Champions takes place at the Highclere Game and Country Fair over 26th and 27th May.
