Countryman Fairs welcome back the Working Ferret Championship to the Midland Game Fair for a third year in 2008. The aim of the Championship is to forge strong links with the working ferret community, recreating the original ferret show that started many years ago. The event will be run by East Coast Ferrets, with an independent judge casting an experienced eye over the proceedings. For 2008 the judge will be linked to PA system to inform the crowds exactly of his observations and judgements. The show has been designed to demonstrate the links between ferreting, net making and working lurchers, and the teamwork between humans and animals that is required for successful ferreting.
Pakefield Ferrets will be offering master classes in net making from the countries leading experts as well as a safe, supervised ferret crèche where owners can leave their ferrets whilst they enjoy the rest of the show.
The International Ferret Welfare run an advice service for anyone requiring more information about any aspect of ferrets and their care.
