Hart Gundog Scurries and Richa Premier Gundog League

World class demonstrations in the training of working dogs take place throughout the day the Richa Working Dog Arena, the Hart Gundog Scurries provide exceptional have-a-go opportunities, and the Richa Premier Gundog League rewards excellence with the world’s largest gundog prize fund.

Hart Gundog Scurries

In order to pursue Countryman Fairs’ aim of encouraging new talent and greater participation from right across the spectrum of handlers the Hart Gundog Scurries offer a unique classification system. Any entrant who has previously been placed in the top three, at any Countryman Fairs event in the last five years and in the future, will automatically be classed as an Open Class handler. All other handlers are placed in the Novice Class. This unique classification system ensures that at each of Countryman Fairs events throughout the season three handlers in each scurry are awarded prizes who have not previously won.

In both the Open Class and the Novice Class the top three handlers will be awarded with the same exceptional Hart Clothing prizes. The exact prize package is still to be confirmed.

The Richa Premier Gundog League

The inaugural Richa Premier Gundog League proved to be a phenomenal success in 2007, with handlers competing throughout the year, across the Hart Gundog Scurries at Countryman fairs group of events, in order to earn the valuable points needed to qualify for the final.

The Midland Game Fair offers handlers the last opportunity to compete for these points and with 126 points on offer, handlers from across Europe will be flocking to the Midland Game Fair to stand a chance of winning the outstanding Mitsubishi Outlander Equippe worth £19,499.00 LP.

Details on the format, terms and conditions and prize package are all available on the Richa Premier Gundog League’s dedicated web page.

Terrier and Lurchers

In 2007 the Countryman’s Weekly Terrier and Lurcher Champion of Champions received a radical overhaul in order to guarantee the integrity of the competition. In 2006 over 200 qualifying events around the country produced a record number of finalists for the Midland Game Fair. By limiting the number of qualifying events in 2007 to 60, the quality of the finalists was dramatically increased.

Due to the success of last years format the 2008 competition will take much the same format with each of Countryman Fairs group of events being a qualifier for The Countryman’s Weekly Terrier and Lurcher Champion of Champions Grand Final at the Midland Game Fair.

The format fro the terrier and lurcher events at Midland Game Fair are still to be announced. Please keep visiting for further updates.
