Clay Shooting Competitions – Compak Sporting
Last Updated on Tuesday, 16 March 2010 13:23
Compak Sporting is a variation of English Sporting, although in a compact version as the name suggests. The Compak Sporting layout is effectively a shooting arena in which five traps are positioned offering a variety of targets. Doveridge Shotgun Academy are pleased to offer a Compak Sporting layout in the Mitsubishi Motors Clay Shooting Festival at each Countryman Fairs event.
This innovative clay shooting discipline is shot in squads of five shooters. There are five shooting positions, or stands placed side by side, with the shooting arena in front of them. Competitors take it in turn to shoot specific combinations or singles from each stand according to a program displayed in front of the cage. Once each shooter has completed the appropriate targets from each cage, they move to the next stand until each has been completed.
This may sound complicated, but it’s actually quite straightforward as the combinations are clearly marked on each stand, however feel free to ask for clarification. Compak Sporting is a great clay shooting discipline to shoot against your friends. It’s fast and fun, and allows you all to shoot simultaneously, whilst trying to keep track of the other scores! Cash prizes are paid to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place shooters three times per day, with 30% of the total income from the Compak Sporting going into the prize fund. There are also spot prizes on offer. Hit a flash clay and win 25 cartridges on the spot!
Compak Sporting costs £12 per entry for 25 targets.
